Siemens Solid Edge Startup Programme

IAgrE members and startups are eligable to apply for the Solid Edge Startup Programme

The Institution of Agricultural Engineers (IAgrE) have partnered with Siemens Digital industries to support young entrepreneurs and startups within the agriculture industry, who are looking to grow their business and take their invention to production.

We held our first workshop in November 2021, where we learnt about Solid Edge, the Startup Programme and how it can help your small business. This online workshop is ideal for startups looking to design and develop a product or manufacture firms looking to accelerate into the agricultural market.

What is the Startup Programme?

In addition to a FREE 1-year licence of Siemens Solid Edge, qualifying entrepreneurs or small businesses also receive co-marketing opportunities, business support from Siemens experts, technical support from Siemens engineers, training, and access to online resources, such as white papers, e-books, videos etc. The initial software provided in the Startup Programme aims to open commercial doors for individuals and startups, allowing them to fully immerse themselves within the engineering industry, and gain access to the wider Siemens portfolio of products and services.

What is Solid Edge?

Solid Edge is a CAD modelling solution that incorporates mechanical design, electronic capability, technical documentation, data management and advanced simulations. This ensures you get single source contact without relying on third parties and helps you to break down the silos in your product design process. Solid Edge also has a graphical editing technology called Synchronous Technology (which is unique to Siemens) and allows quicker innovation, faster design edits and seamless integration amongst engineers, thus reducing costs and increasing the profits for a startup.

Startup Programme application requirements:

· Open to design startups or manufacturers who need/use CAD software to create a product or concept.

· The business 3 years old or less (subject to adjustment depending on the startup).

· Less than £1 million in funding.

· Less than £1 million in annual revenue.
