Christine initially graduated from the Cranfield Institute of Technology (now Cranfield University) in Agricultural Engineering and has also obtained a number of other qualifications in engineering design, manufacturing and engineering management. With over ten years of experience including employment with International Harvester, Leyland Vehicles and Massey Ferguson, Christine went on to set up her own successful business - Ascott Clark - Engineering and Management Consultants in 1990. The Company works both in the UK and overseas undertaking various consultancy, project engineering and management assignments, expert witness investigations for the legal and insurance professions, the relocation of manufacturing operations and the selling and sourcing of surplus plant and equipment. Christine is also a Member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and a Member of the British Institute of Agricultural Consultants. Christine has also been active in the affairs of the IAgrE having served on both the ruling Council and the Executive Management Committee as well as Branch Committees.
My interest in Engineering was initially sparked by a school trip to Jaguar Land Rover in Solihull, at this time I was 15 years of age and had never even considered Engineering as a career path. Jaguar Land Rover was quick to change my perceptions of engineering, given how clean their factories were and how highly their engineers spoke of a career in engineering.
