Why should I volunteer?
IAgrE is a small Institution and relies on members to help fulfil all of our functions and services. Volunteering is an excellent way to meet other members and get more involved in Institution business, whilst broadening your network. Don't forget, volunteering has been shown to make you feel healthier and happier too!
How can I get involved?
If you’d like to get involved and volunteer with IAgrE there are lots of things you can do.
Committees & Governance
We have a number of committees on which you can serve:
Membership Committee - always room for volunteers, we can advise if you would like to get involved
Professional Development Committee - this committee helps us with CPD reviews etc so once again always room for additional volunteers
Advisory Council - this is elected in April/May so if you want to join the Council we hold a list of those willing to volunteer
Executive Committee - Members of this committee are drawn from Council so let us know if you are interested
The Awards Panel - this is a small committee but if you feel this is the role for you please let us know
Our local area Branches always welcome volunteers – they organise local events and talks and are a great opportunity for networking. Even if there is not an active Branch in your area we can help you set up an event and publicise it to local members.
Special Interest Groups
These are under review at present but if you are passionate about your area of expertise and would like to set up a group please get in touch
We are always looking for members who are prepared to help guide someone through the registration process or give career support. If you would like to help in this way we have online training available.
IAgrE attend events through the year at which volunteer members are greatly appreciated:
Midlands Machinery Show etc
Consultants & Advisors
There are also one off opportunities for specialist involvement and if you would like to help on an ad hoc basis do let us know.
We will post specific requests when we have them.
