IAgrE was delighted to be hosted by the National Fluid Power Centre in Worksop to celebrate IAgrE success with the annual Awards presentation. Full details of the day, which began with a Council Meeting followed by the AGM and then the Awards may be found here.
The President of the Institution, Jane Rickson was pleased to introduce the new CEO, Edward Hansom, who will take the reigns from the current CEO Alastair Taylor in September. Edward is a Chartered Engineer, with a background in mechanical and production engineering and was a Marine Engineer Officer with the Royal Navy. He has over 20 years' experience of leading teams within Professional Engineering Institutions, including the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE), the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology (IMarEST) and the Royal Institution of Naval Architects (RINA). Commenting on his appointment Ed said, "I am honored to be taking up the appointment of Chief Executive of the IAgrE. I am very much looking forward to the opportunities and challenges that will come with the job and to build upon the excellent work Alastair has done during his tenure."
Jane also took the opportunity to record her thanks to Alastair for his time as Chief Executive and expressed appreciation for all he had done in his tenure to raise the profile of IAgrE.
