Sponsored by the Douglas Bomford Trust
This award will be made annually to the member of The Institution (or team including a member of The Institution) who has made a substantial contribution to improving any aspect of the environment.
Citations for the award should identify the nature of the environmental benefit delivered and will be judged by The Awards Panel of The Institution with input from representatives of The Trust.
Where the award is made to an individual, then a prize of £250 will be given.
Where the award is made to a team, the prize will be £500.
The financial value of the prizes will be reviewed by The Trust annually.
The prize(s) will be presented at the awards ceremony of The Institution by a representative of The Trust.
The award differs from the Ivel Award in that it relates to the contribution of an individual (or individuals) rather than a an item of equipment. In making the award, the judging panel will take account of the resources available to individuals such that a good student project should be as likely to win as a development team working for a company.
