The Institution of Agricultural Engineers (IAgrE) Backs Farm Safety Week 2026
The Institution of Agricultural Engineers (IAgrE) is proud to support this year's Farm Safety Week (20–24 July 2026), the annual campaign led by The Farm Safety Foundation (Yellow Wellies), which calls on farming communities across the UK and Ireland to make safer choices on farms.
Now in its 14th year, Farm Safety Week shines a spotlight on one of the most important challenges facing the agricultural industry. While farming continues to have one of the poorest safety records of any occupation in the UK and Ireland, this year's campaign focuses on something that is often overlooked – the life-changing impact of serious injuries.
As the professional body representing agricultural engineers, technologists and industry
professionals, IAgrE is joining forces with organisations across the sector to raise awareness, share key safety messages and encourage practical improvements that can help prevent accidents, reduce risks and protect lives.
Charlie Nicklin, CEO of IAgrE, said:
"Farm safety is everyone's responsibility, and engineers have a vital role to play in creating safer working environments. Through better machine design, effective maintenance, appropriate training and a strong safety culture, many incidents can be prevented before they happen.
