Martin Goodchild

Dr Martin Goodchild is an Honorary Visiting Research Fellow at the University of Bedfordshire and has research interests in soil physics, environmental measurements and aquaculture. He is a Chartered Physicist and a Fellow of the Institution of Engineering & Technology. Previously, Martin was a Principal Scientist and the Company Secretary at Delta-T Devices Ltd. At Delta-T Martin focussed on soil moisture measurement technologies and has published research on sensors and measurement systems across the soil-plant-atmosphere continuum including precision irrigation. Prior to Delta-T Martin spent periods of time working in academia, industry and technology consultancy in a diverse range of industries including communication systems & medical devices. He is an inventor or co-inventor on over 20 patents worldwide, https://orcid.org/0000-0003-1882-7981.

Martin is honoured to be a member of the Advisory Council. This position provides the opportunity to support the IAgrE's future development and further engage with the challenges facing agricultural engineering in our rapidly changing world. Membership of the Advisory Council will also help provide a broader perspective of this sector and the people who work within it.
