Martin Goodchild

Dr Martin Goodchild is a Principal Scientist and Company Secretary at Delta-T Devices Ltd. He is a Chartered Physicist, a Fellow of the Institution of Engineering & Technology and a Fellow and Advisory Council member of the Institution of Agricultural Engineers. At Delta-T Martin focusses on soil moisture measurement technologies and has research interests in sensors and measurement systems across the soil-plant-atmosphere continuum, resulting in peer reviewed publications focussing on precision irrigation. Prior to Delta-T Martin spent periods working in academia, industry and technology consultancy delivering IP creation, technology exploitation and business development in a diverse range of industries including communication systems & medical devices. He is an inventor or co-inventor on over 20 patents worldwide, https://orcid.org/0000-0003-1882-7981.

Martin is honoured to have been invited to join the Advisory Council. This position provides the opportunity to support the IAgrE's future development and further engage with the challenges facing agricultural engineering in our rapidly changing world. Membership of the Advisory Council will also help provide a broader perspective of this sector and the people who work within it.
