Western Branch Visit - SKF, Clevedon & Concorde Exhibition

Svenska Kullagerfabriken [SKF] is a global manufacturer of bearing componentry providing solutions for industry and the military. One of the founders of SKF, Sven Wingquist invented the double-row self-aligning ball bearing, proving why SKF is a common place name to all design and development engineers. The site at Clevedon, North Somerset provides a strategic link in the critical component procurement for both fixed wing aircraft and helicopters in the UK and across Europe. SKF Clevedon specialises in the manufacture of self-lubricating PTFE/glass fibre lined bearings, preferred for the most demanding applications these bearings offer an exceptional load to mass ratio, combined with excellent resistance to fatigue and wear.

We are invited to meet at the reception of SKF Clevedon, for 10.45am on Wednesday 24th January 2018. After a tour of the facilities and an opportunity for questions, we are to have lunch at a venue to be confirmed. We’ll then continue our aeronautical theme with a visit to the Concorde exhibition at Filton, Bristol; http://aerospacebristol.org/  Cost of entry is £15 per head.

Please note the SKF tour is restricted to a maximum of 15 people, members and visitors are kindly requested to bring safety shoes.
