With continued increase in plantings of vines in the UK, coupled with reduced availability of experienced vineyard labour, we are facing an increasing challenge to manage our vineyards.
Thus we must explore and embrace the benefits of new forms of mechanical , electrical or robotic technology . The Industry is ready and waiting for new ideas!
John will endeavour to explain the need for new technology and will look ar the role of mechanisation including pobotics. He will explore UV light in disease monitoring and control as well as the use of laser for weed control and will pose questiond for on-going R&D for all the above.
