Northern Ireland annual summer visit to Patrick McKeown's Carriage Museum

The annual Summer meeting for members and guests has been arranged for the evening of Friday 14 June 2024 and will take the form of a meal at the Halfway House, 143 Camlough Road, Broughshane BT43 7JW followed by a visit to Patrick McKeown’s Carriage Museum at Newtown-Crommelin.

Mr Paddy McKeown’s Museum of Horse Drawn Carriages:

Mr McKeown is a very endearing gentleman from Newtowncrommelin, a tiny village in the townland of Skerry close to The Glens of Antrim.

Paddy’s father bought him his first donkey when he was 5/6 years of age and that evidently started Paddy’s life long love and passion for all things equestrian.

Over the years,  Paddy’s love and passion for horse drawn carriages continued to grow and today he has acquired an unequalled collection - you will find nothing to rival it anywhere.  Some of these wonderful carriages originated in America or Switzerland and others elsewhere.

Today the museum contains a collection of some 90 horsedrawn carriages of all ages, shapes and sizes.
