IAgrE Technical Visit - Severn Trent Water

An opportunity to visit the Severn Trent Water treatment facility at Stoke Bardolph, Nottinhamshire.  The visit will include a tour of the facility and information on the Agricultural and Environmental engineering and impact led by IAgrE member Dr Alex Cooke CEnv MIAgrE.

Programme for the day:

  • Arrival 10am-10:30am (Severn Trent, Stoke Bardolph, 43 Stoke Lane, Burton Joyce, Nottingham, NG14 5HN)
  • 10:30-11am: Farm to Tap; how the STW catchment programme links to the water you drink
  • 11:00-11:15am: Quick coffee break / toilets
  • 11:15-noon: Innovative Maize trial; new methods to reduce nitrate leaching and increase soil health
  • Noon-12:30: Lunch provided
  • 12:30-14:00: Tour of the facilities; how Ag Eng feeds into sewage treatment and the circular economy
  • 14:00-14:30: Discussion and feedback session

Steel Toe Caps are advisable and stout footwear is essential and if you don't wear them it is at your own risk.
