This is a follow-up to a visit East Midlands made 6-7 years ago so it will be interesting to see the progress made.
Stoke Bardolph is currently the largest of over 30 sewage works in Nottinghamshire. Much of the sewage sludge produced during the treatment is still injected into land at Stoke Bardolph and Bulcote Farm and treated water is discharged into the River Trent. There has always been much investment in new processes and technologies, including the generation of electricity to power the plant using the biogas from the sewage.
The visit will tour the Severn Trent Model Farm that was set up nearly 100 years ago to work out how best to solve the increasing sewerage problems.
