EMESP Prestige Lecture 2018

EMESP Prestige Lecture 2018

Following the discovery of corrosion in the cables of the Forth Road Bridge in 2005, work was rapidly progressed to procure and construct a new crossing. The new Queensferry Crossing Bridge was opened by Her Majesty, The Queen on 4 September 2017 following 10 years of design, planning and construction.

Lawrence will highlight how the bridge, which is the world’s longest three tower cable-stayed bridge, was realised within this tight timeframe, highlighting some of the lessons learnt and issues involved.
