Training, Partnerships and Up-Skilling – Employers Survey

Engineering and Technology is changing rapidly.

Engineers have a vital role in delivering, installing, and maintaining technological solutions for a growing population. Traditionally, these solutions would have been engines, tractors, hydraulics and power transmission In the modern world, it is about remote sensing, data and telemetry, mechatronics, automation, robotics and even satellites.

This demands highly skilled and motivated engineers and technicians but is set against an aging work force who need upskilling, together with an often misunderstood and underrepresented industry which has to compete with other engineering sectors to grow talent. The future will rely upon new people from non-traditional backgrounds, a more diverse workforce, and better upskilling of existing employees. This industry is well aware of the need to tackle these issues
