Clare Butler Ellis

Dr. Clare Butler Ellis has a PhD in physics, is a Fellow of the Institution of Agricultural Engineering, a Chartered Physicist and a Chartered Environmentalist. She is Research Manager, and led the team, at Silsoe Spray Applications Unit Ltd until the end of 2023. She has worked in agricultural engineering research since 1986 and has been involved with R&D into application techniques for pesticides since 1994. 

Clare joined the Institution in 2005 and has served terms on Council and Executive as both Member and Fellow.  She has a particular interest in improving diversity and inclusion firstly within the Institution, and then broadly across the agricultural engineering industry.
