Barnabas, a student member of IAgrE, became involved with the Institution during his sixth form when he was awarded an Arkwright Scholarship sponsored by the Douglas Bomford Trust. He enjoyed the branch visits and meetings and has been an active member ever since.
As a member of the Advisory Council, Barnabas aims to ensure that all students' voices are heard and to encourage students from any university and engineering degree to get involved with the Institution and make the most of the fantastic opportunities on offer.
Growing up on an arable and dairy farm in Wiltshire, Barnabas always knew he wanted to be involved with agricultural machinery. This led him to study Mechanical Engineering at the University of Nottingham. In 23/24, Barnabas took a year-long university placement with CNH Industrial at the Basildon Tractor Plant, working in the UK/ROI product support team. In his spare time, Barnabas is a keen cyclist and still loves working on the family farm whenever he can.
