I recently completed my studies at Harper Adams University, where I achieved a first-class degree in Agricultural Engineering. It was during my time there that I first came across the IAgrE and the concept of professional registration. During my placement year, I had the incredible opportunity to work as a technical support assistant at CLAAS UK, enabling me to apply the theoretical knowledge learnt during my studies.
After graduating, I upgraded my IAgrE Student membership to Associate Member and returned to CLAAS as a graduate management trainee in the Technical Department. I am immensely grateful that this gave me the opportunity to travel. I spent a season gaining hands-on experience driving a new LEXION combine down under. The experience I gained is relied upon every day when talking to dealers and customers, the opportunity also significantly contributed to my professional and personal growth. In recent months, I've taken on the role of Combine Technical Specialist for the UK and Ireland, establishing a direct link between the factory, our dealer network, and the customer.
Following graduation, I pursued professional registration, driven by my ongoing desire to learn while demonstrating my passion for the industry and dedication to my career. Attaining Engineerign Technician (EngTech) registration has added credibility to my professional skills and knowledge and instils confidence in both our customers and dealers, a particular asset as a junior team member.
