Having almost “retired” after over sixty years in the agricultural and turf care industries, fifty-seven of which have been in agricultural engineering, Geoff will take us through some of the lessons that he has learned on the way, some amusing, others more serious, from his travels to over forty-five countries around the world, and living in Australia, New Guinea, Dublin and of course the U.K.
He has worked for Massey Ferguson, Wright Rain Irrigation, Kidd Farm Machinery, P.J. Parmiter, and for the last 25 years, the Dutch sports turf machinery group, Redexim bv.
In addition, he was President of the Agricultural Engineers Association in 1990/91, Chairman of the Royal Smithfield Show in 1991, 1992 and 1994, on the Lackham College Board from 1989 to 2010, fourteen as Chairman, which included leading the creation of Wiltshire College, Secretary to the Royal Smithfield Club Smithfield Club from 1998 to 2018, and is currently on the Board of the Grounds Management Association and Saltex Show advisory group.
