IAgrE is committed to supporting your professional growth through a variety of CPD events and a system for recording your development. Members registered with the Engineering Council or Society for the Environment must maintain CPD records. IAgrE reviews a random sample annually—if selected, you’ll be asked to submit your record. Not doing so may affect your registration.
Why CPD Matters
- Aims: Boost career prospects | Improve business performance
- Benefits: Job satisfaction | Employability | Promotion | Reflection | Quality service
The focus is on quality over quantity. Members are encouraged to record their CPD and submit it for feedback. A random selection is reviewed annually.
Don’t worry—you’re likely already doing CPD. Now it’s time to recognise and record it. IAgrE also encourages members to reflect on how CPD benefits their professional growth.
CPD Expectations
IAgrE doesn’t use a points or hours system but expects around 30 hours of CPD per year, focusing on quality over quantity. CPD is required for membership upgrades and registration. You’re likely already doing CPD—just start recording it!
Types of CPD
- Technical knowledge and expertise
- Broader technical or managerial skills
- Professional life skills (e.g. finance, law, languages)
