Richard Negus is a former soldier and professional horseman, turned master hedgelayer, Richard Negus isn’t just an observer of the landscape, he is one of its primary architects. He spends his days practising an ancient craft that is equal parts brute force and delicate surgery. This conservation work secures a home for wildlife and increases biodiversity. When his billhook is hanging up at his Suffolk home, he turns to writing and broadcasting to champion the people, work and nature of the British countryside.

Find out more about Richard on his website, I can personally recommend his book "Words from the Hedge" (Sarah)
