Being born and bred in an agro-based economy stimulated my passion to contribute to technological advances to boost agricultural production. After graduating in Agricultural Engineering, I worked in the irrigation sector for 12 years. The experience prompted me to explore further the dynamics of the water sector and hence further specialized in Water Resources Engineering and Management.
I broadened my career path to include water and sanitation hygiene in rural areas for 5 years. The prevailing global challenge of climate change mitigation formed the basis of my doctoral research in sustainability with a thesis on the impacts of land use changes on water resources of a catchment with particular focus on semi-arid regions. I have a natural passion for the agricultural and water sector and enjoy my work beyond borders.
Joining IAgrE is the best professional decision I have ever made. The mentorship helped me to reveal my professional achievements, thanks to Dr Keith Hawken. IAgrE provided the best platform for Chartership and that is what I needed. The process is very thorough, the preparation needs commitment and the outcome is just as expected. I encourage colleagues to follow suit.
