The Museum of English Rural Life (MERL), a part of Reading University, reopened last autumn after a major expansion and refurbishment. We shall be greeted with a welcoming talk about the museum and its contents and given a guide to its collections and points of interest. We will be free to then browse at our leisure for the rest of the day. MERL has, over the years, established itself as the major repository and information source about many items of equipment and archives of many agricultural companies.
Refreshments and parking
There is a small car park in front of the building and more in the adjacent Acacia Road on the university Campus. Please park and then request a free university parking permit from the MERL reception desk. Simple refreshments may be purchased from the MERL reception desk. Light lunches and snacks may be purchased from ‘The Dairy’ a university café/restaurant in the next building.
Attendance
All Members, families and their guests are invited to come.
Prior booking is not essential but we would appreciate and idea of numbers. Please email ptsg@iagre.biz
